Data categories
We distinguish account and contact data, invoices and payment records, authentication and security logs, support communications, customer-hosted content and operational backups. A single retention period is not appropriate for every category; each has a purpose and legal basis.
End-of-purpose erasure
Personal data is erased when its lawful processing purpose ends in accordance with the current Omani Personal Data Protection Law. Retention after that point is restricted to an existing dispute or a legal obligation imposed by law or a competent court order, judgment or decision. We document the applicable exception rather than applying indefinite blanket retention.
Billing and legal records
Financial and contractual records are retained only for the period required by the applicable legal obligation or a qualifying dispute. Access is limited, and records are removed when the lawful retention condition ends. A general commercial preference is not treated as a substitute for a legal retention basis.
Hosted data and termination
Customers should export data they wish to keep before a service is terminated. At the end of the service and its processing purpose, hosted personal data is subject to erasure or a narrowly documented legal exception. We do not assume that ending an account permits indefinite copies.
Backup purpose and limits
Operational backups, when included in an approved plan, serve recovery and continuity objectives and are not a substitute for customer-managed independent backups unless expressly promised. Backup coverage, frequency, retention and restore eligibility must be specified in the applicable plan or operational schedule.
Erasure in backup systems
Deletion requests and end-of-purpose events are evaluated against the design of backups and applicable law. Where technically appropriate, access to affected copies is restricted pending securely controlled erasure; we do not treat a routine backup cycle as a blanket legal exemption from prompt deletion.
Legal hold and disputes
When an existing dispute or an enforceable legal duty requires preservation, only relevant information is retained, access is controlled and the reason is documented. The retained information is reviewed for deletion when the exception no longer applies.
Requests and evidence
Requests to access, export or erase data may be made through info@3000host.com, subject to identity verification and the customer’s authorised role. We record actions and explain any legal reason preventing full or immediate fulfilment.
